That spelling was intentional because it seems like the holiday season puts you in a daze of sorts. October is a month that seems to just focus on its holiday, which is Halloween. This phenomenon happens right after Halloween where we go into November and immediately start thinking of Christmas. I love Christmas just as much as the next person, but I need some time to decompress between those two holidays.
That’s always been just in between holiday to chill, eat some food, and mentally prepare myself for the month of December. Somehow we’ve managed to merge November and December into some super holiday where Christmas start at the beginning of November. I don’t know how else to describe it other than than it feels like we’ve merged November and December into one month. I’m not sure what you would even call that…Nocember? Devember?
All kidding aside, if you start to feel like you’re being put into a daze during the days, make sure that you’re setting aside time for yourself every day. Whether that would be 15 minutes in the morning before you open your eyes to just get in touch with your physical body or going for a walk and soaking in the sunshine before you start your day. this is the season of giving and while we are also focused on giving to others it’s important that we give to ourselves every single day so that we can show up as present as possible. Because being present is the best present, you can really give yourself.
So go for a walk, call a friend, and a coloring book, or just go for some ice cream. Whatever makes you feel connected to yourself is good enough.
The holidays come around once a year so if you start by giving back to yourself now, you’ll be a pro by next year!
Hang in there friends 🫶
Much love and good vibeage,
